USJ residents break fast at police station

What say you on the issue below?

FOR some USJ residents, breaking fast at the USJ 8 police station at a recent buka puasa function brought back memories of how they fought for the police station.

USJ resident Christopher Ng said they just wanted more police presence.

The “Balik kampung, rumah selamat” campaign was also launched during the function.

USJ 8 police station officer-in-charge Chief Inspector Loi Yew Lik urged residents to fill in the form and pass it to the police stations in Subang Jaya, USJ, Taipan, or Putra Heights.

“We will make at least one visit to the house and the visit will be recorded,” he said.

According to USJRA honorary secretary Eileen Cheah, the campaign was first launched in Subang Jaya and had been successfully replicated in various parts outside Subang Jaya and USJ.

The campaign is targeted at residents in Subang Jaya (including USJ and Putra Heights) and Bandar Sunway who may be away for the coming holidays.

“Residents are encouraged to register with their area’s police stations to request for police patrols during their absence.

“Once notified, police will arrange for their patrol units to increase patrolling at the specific areas,” she said.

About 400 guests turned up including Subang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Zainal Rashid Abu Bakar, Kelana Jaya MP Loh Gwo Burne, Subang Jaya assemblyman Hannah Yeoh, MPSJ councillors, Kelana Jaya MCA chairman Ong Chong Swen residents from SJRA, Bandar Sunway Residents Association (RA) and Putra Heights RA.
