KL against weapons of mass destruction

What say you on the issue below?

PETALING JAYA: Malaysia hopes that efforts to resolve Iran’s nuclear issue would continue, Deputy Foreign Minister Datuk Lee Chee Leong said.

He said Malaysia was against all forms of weapons of mass destruction, including nuclear weapons.

“Malaysia believes that all countries with a nuclear programme must subject themselves to the full scope of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Safeguards, the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty as well as the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty,” he said in a statement.

Lee conveyed this message during Iranian ambassador Mahdi Khandaghabadi’s courtesy call on him at Wisma Putra in Putrajaya on Wednesday.

He said he hoped to see more engagement and interaction between officials and citizens of Iran and Malaysia.
