Ang’s snapshot of Mt Titlis wins him tickets to Geneva

What say you on the issue below?

GEOFFREY Ang Kok Wei had good reason to be smiling broadly.

He had won the Mount Titlis photo contest and had just received two return air tickets to Geneva, Switzerland, on Etihad Airways at the prize-giving ceremony held recently at the United Arab Emirates’ national carrier’s office in Kuala Lumpur.

The contest, which was jointly organised by The Swiss Tourism Board, Mount Titlis Rotair, Parlo Tours Sdn Bhd and Etihad Airways, ran from April to July this year.

It was open to customers who bought a 10-day European Wonder holiday package, coordinated by Parlo Tours, that included a trip to Mount Titlis in Switzerland.

Participants were required to capture their best shot of the mountain during their trip and submit it to qualify for the grand prize.

From the 250 travellers who were booked on the package, 150 entries were received for the contest.

The entries were narrowed down to the 36 best shots, and Ang was ultimately selected as the grand prize winner.

As part of his prize, he also won complimentary hotel accommodation and travel arrangements in Switzerland, courtesy of Mount Titlis Rotair.

The 3,238m-high Mount Titlis is a mountain in the Urner Alps of Switzerland. Located on the border between the Swiss cantons of Obwalden and Berne, overlooking Engelberg (Obwal-den), it is famous as the site of the world’s first revolving cable car.

The cable car system connects Engelberg to the summit of Klein Titlis (3,028m) through the three stages of Gerschnialp (1,262m), Trübsee (1,796m) and Stand (2,428m).
