Arrests soon over Molotov cocktail attack

What say you on the issue below?

SHAH ALAM: Police are expected to make several arrests soon in connection with the Molotov cocktail attack on the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) office in Klang last week.

Selangor police chief Datuk Khalid Abu Bakar said they had several new leads and would be making arrests soon but declined to elaborate as investigations were ongoing.

In the 3am incident on Aug 21, six Molotov cocktails were thrown at a four-wheel-drive vehicle belonging to the MACC at its branch office at the former land office complex in Jalan Kota.

The Nissan X-Trail was parked in the compound of the complex. The damaged vehicle was only spotted at 7.45am when MACC officers reported for duty.

Police are also investigating if there was any connection between the firebomb incident and the death threat received recently by MACC chief commissioner Datuk Seri Ahmad Said Hamdan.

Police did not rule out the possibility that the attack was linked to MACC's current high-profile cases where politicians and others in the state were being investigated.

Ahmad Said had also acknowledged that the MACC offices in Selangor were now "hot spots" and has directed officers to be more vigilant in the wake of the firebomb incident.

The Nissan X-Trail was believed to have been torched between 2am and 3am.
