'Accept the decision of council with calmness'

What say you on the issue below?

GEORGE TOWN: Penang MCA said all party members should accept the party's presidential council's decision to sack Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek from the party with a calm heart and mind.

State MCA deputy chairman Eng Hiap Boon said if members loved the party, they should respect the presidential council's decision.

"Put yourselves in the presidential council's shoes and you will realise that all this is for the party's best interest.

"Let there not be any infighting and squabble, especially among Dr Chua's supporters," he said when contacted.

He also advised Dr Chua's supporters to think twice and cool down before resorting to any action.

As for Dr Chua himself, Eng said the party's former deputy president should also accept the presidential council's decision.

"Dr Chua should ask himself why the presidential council made such a decision? He should stop creating problems for the party."

Eng, who is also state MCA Youth chief, said the party was already very weak following its poor showing in the general election last year.

"Let us put all this past us and look towards strengthening the party further. To do so, we should support the party president whole-heartedly."
