Both Tse and Cheung returned last month to the Philippines, where they were married.

They spent five days there and Cheung is now one-and-a-half months pregnant, the daily said.

Cheung rests at home most of the time. She is the daughter-in-law of veteran actor Patrick Tse and actress Deborah Lee.

Controversial pictures showing Cheung and actor Edison Chen in provocative poses surfaced last year, forcing the actress to take a year’s break from the big screen.

> Former Finance Minister Tun Daim Zainuddin said political parties should not support protests and street demonstrations, China Press reported yesterday.

National interest, he added, took priority and Malaysia needed foreign investment.

Daim said street demonstrations gave a negative impression to investors.

“We need foreign investment and all parties should think of national interests first,” he said.

> Associated Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry Malaysia president Tan Sri William Cheng also told the daily that political stability was vital in attracting foreign investment.

Cheng said national security needed to be strengthened and policies promoting an open economy should be continued.

He added that foreign investment dropped 46.1% this year while local investment reduced by 67.4%.
