KUALA LUMPUR: A cellular phone salesman who was stabbed repeatedly when he tried to save his brother from being robbed died after being in a coma for 18 days.
Huang Kee Ming, 25, from Limbang, Sarawak, died at Hospital Kuala Lumpur around 5am yesterday despite undergoing three surgeries.
Kee Huon, 22, Kee Ming’s youn-ger brother, said the robbery oc-curred at the Medan Tuanku monorail station at 9pm on Aug 25.
“I was waiting at the station for my brother to pick me up when three men in surgical masks approached me brandishing knives,” he said, adding that they took his cash and cellular phone.
He said at that moment, the deceased showed up and upon seeing Kee Huon in trouble, tried to fend off the robbers.
“However, the robbers stabbed him several times and fled the scene,” said Kee Huon.
