Peugeot will give its i0n all-electric vehicle its world premiere at the coming Frankfurt Motor Show. The vehicle, developed in co-operation with Mitsubishi Motor Company (MMC) and essentially a i MiEV for the European market, is set to make its market debut at the end of 2010 to both retail and fleet customers.
The four-door hatch has a maximum power output of 64bhp and 180Nm of torque, and a top speed of 128kmh, with an operating range of 128km on a single charge of its lithium-ion batteries. The battery pack can be recharged in six hours using a conventional mains power supply or recharged to 80% capacity within thirty minutes, thanks to its fast charging system.
The car will feature innovative functions through its "localised communication unit," which not only authorises the emergency call system available throughout Europe (for example, giving the location of a vehicle at the time of an accident and triggering the dispatch of suitable emergency services) but also authorises data transfer for items such as battery status, distance covered, distance to travel before maintenance is due.
