Ops Sikap death toll hits 192

KUALA LUMPUR: Fifteen people were killed in road accidents yesterday, bringing the death toll since police launched Ops Sikap 11 days ago to 192.

Bukit Aman police public relations controller Supt Rasdi Ramli said in a statement that the deaths involved 10 motorcyclists, three motorists, a van passenger and a pedestrian.

Most accidents occurred on municipal roads, numbering 408, followed by federal roads (378), state roads (219), highways (97) and other roads (69).

A total of 10,373 fines were issued for various traffic offences, he said. Ops Sikap will end on Sunday.
