KUALA LUMPUR: Most areas in the country recorded good air quality, with no area registering any unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API).
According to the Department of Environment website, 37 of the 48 areas monitored had good API readings as at 11am yesterday while the rest had moderate readings.
The areas with good air quality included Larkin Lama in Johor (47), Alor Setar, Kedah (30), Malacca (46), Jerantut, Pahang (24) and Kangar, Perlis (28).
Among the areas with moderate API readings were Kota Tinggi (53), Pasir Gudang (52) and Muar (59) in Johor, Bukit Rambai (52) in Malacca, Tawau (69) in Sabah, and Bintulu (54), Kapit (53), Samarahan (59), Sarikei (52) and Sri Aman (57) in Sarawak.
The Federal Territory of Labuan also had a moderate reading of 53.
A reading of 50 indicates good air quality, 51-100 (moderate), 101-200 (unhealthy), 201-300 (very unhealthy) and 300 and above (hazardous).
