He said this would enable the sports councils of Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Labuan to identify athletes who have the potential to represent the Federal Territories in the Sukma (Malaysia Games).

“I hope our athletes won’t use the fasting month as an excuse not to be involved in any training programmes conducted by the respective sports councils,’’ he said during a buka puasa function organised by the FT Sports Council and the FT Ministry at the Dewan Sri Siantan in Putrajaya.

Apart from members and athletes from the various sports associations, 32 children from Rumah Anak Yatim Darul Kifayah and Rumah Anak Yatim Syifa were the special guests at the event.

They were presented with RM100 each by Nong Chik, Kuala Lumpur mayor Datuk Ahmad Fuad Ismail and Perbadanan Putrajaya president Tan Sri Samsuddin Osman.
