No A(H1N1) deaths since Friday

KUALA LUMPUR: No Influenza A(H1N1) death has been recorded since Friday and the death toll so far remains at 74.

Director-General of Health Tan Sri Dr Mohd Ismail Merican said yesterday 68 new admissions with influenza-like illness were recorded.

Of the 881 influenza-like illness cases in 99 hospitals, including nine private hospitals, 162 or 18.5% were A(H1N1) positive.

Of these 162 patients, 37 were warded in the intensive care units with two being new cases and 31 having risk factors – 12 with chronic diseases, three with chronic respiratory diseases, seven obese cases, eight children under five and a pregnant woman,” he said in a statement here.
