News report on PKFZ findings is ‘baseless’

What say you on the issue below?

THE Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ) task force report did not single out former Transport Minister Tan Sri Chan Kong Choy and PKFZ executive chairman Datin Paduka O. C. Phang for not carrying out their duties, China Press reported.

Port Klang Authority (PKA) chairman Datuk Lee Hwa Beng denied a news report that the task force had singled out the duo.

Lee said the news report was inaccurate as the content of the task force report was not leaked.

“No one can take home the report so it was baseless for the newspaper to say that it had read the report,” he said.

Lee said no one could reveal the content of the task force report to ensure the fairness of any subsequent action on the matter.

He said only task force members and PKA top management were privy to the content of the report.

> The daily also reported about a temple in Seremban that was used to store illegal sexual stimulants and accessories.

The matter came to light when the temple was raided by police recently, following the arrest of a woman from China who led police to the hideout.

The items were kept in boxes hidden in various parts of the temple, with some of them even placed on the altar.

> Sin Chew Daily reported about a maid who was alleged to have added her urine into her employer’s drinking water in Segamat, Johor.

It quoted the employer as saying that she did not smell the urine when they had breakfast, as they were drinking Milo, coffee and milk.

“When my sister drank the plain water after her food, she tasted something weird.

“We then played the recorded CCTV clips installed in the house, and realised that the maid had secretly poured her urine into the drinking water container.

“My sister quickly went to her children’s school and poured away the water from their tumblers as it also smelled of urine,” she said. The employer immediately returned the maid to the agency.
