BUTTERWORTH: The man arrested by police after his naked girlfriend fell two floors into a swimming pool at a condominium block has been placed under observation at the Penang Hospital’s psychiatric ward in Perak Road.
North Seberang Prai OCPD Asst Comm Zulkifli Alias said a check showed that the man, 26, was still undergoing treatment for mental illness at the time of the incident.
“We are also trying to determine why the 22-year-old woman was running around naked prior to falling into the pool on the sixth floor, from the eighth-floor unit in Bagan Dalam.
“We have not ruled out the possibility that she was stripped off her clothes prior to being assaulted by her boyfriend. She was also high on drugs at that time.
“We have yet to question both of them as they are still undergoing treatment.
“At present, the woman is at the Seberang Jaya Hospital with serious body injuries,” he said yesterday.
ACP Zulkifli said they also recovered two packets of white powder, which could be heroin from the man.
