PETALING JAYA: A man in his 30s has been arrested in connection with the murder of an electrical contractor last Saturday.
He was arrested on Sunday, after the body of Lau Thong Chew, 46, was found slumped in a chair in his office with a gunshot wound on the neck.
Ampang OCPD Asst Comm Abdul Jalil Hassan said they tracked down the man, who was known to Lau, after checking the last number the victim dialled from his mobile phone.
He said police were investigating the motive of the murder, including any connection to Ah Long activities.
Lau was found shot dead in his office located at a shophouse in Ampang’s Pandan Indah Commercial Centre. There were signs of a struggle and several bullet holes were found in the wall.
The suspect’s remand order ends today.
