Lau and Chu have two children, says HK magazine

What say you on the issue below?

HONG Kong actor-singer Andy Lau is said to have two children with former Malaysian beauty queen Carol Chu even though he has denied it openly, Chinese newspapers reported.

Quoting a Hong Kong weekly magazine, they said the couple have an 11-year-old daughter and a son who is currently staying in Singapore with Lau’s sister.

Lau denied that he had children with Chu and explained on arrival in Hong Kong from China on Tuesday that the children who had been photographed were those of his relatives or friends.

The magazine reported that the son was born at the height of his career and was brought up by Lau’s father.

“To prevent the exposure of his son, Lau sent him to Singapore to stay with his sister,” it reported.

Lau’s daughter is said to have been born in Canada and was being cared for by another sister.

Lau was caught lying about his marriage to Chu and had apologised publicly.

> On another issue, the daily reported that the Education Ministry was prepared to bear the cost of hiring substitutes when teachers took more than two weeks’ leave.

This came about after a letter issued by the Kluang education office stating that the Government would not pay for substitute teachers.

Deputy Education Minister Datuk Dr Wee Ka Siong, who was asked to comment on the letter, said: “If a teacher takes less than one week’s leave, the school can ask another teacher to help out temporarily.”
