Grand finals taking place in Tawau next month

MOHD Shukri Awang emerged as the gross champion in the semi-final round of the Malaysian Golf Idol championship at the Bukit Kemuning Golf and Country Club in Shah Alam recently.

Mohd Shukri, a four handicapper, carded a one-under-par 71 to win the title by two strokes. En route to his impressive score, Mohd Shukri, who was the champion in the Northern qualifying round at the Kulim Golf and Country Club, had six birdies.

In second place was Chan Soo Keong from Permaipura Golf Club on 73 while Mohd Azimy Sidek was third on 75.

The top 10 finishers in the semi-final round will join the gross and nett winners in the previous qualifying rounds in the grand finals at the Shan Shui Golf and Country Club in Tawau, Sabah on Oct 19-22.
