Free training courses

What say you on the issue below?

HUMAN Resource training company K. Pintar Sdn Bhd will be conducting two-month training courses for school leavers, unemployed youth and graduates, and retrenched workers, beginning Sept 21.

The courses will be free and participants will be entitled to a monthly allowance of between RM500 and RM800 during their training, depending on the course they take and how many children they have.

Hostel acommodation will also be provided for the participants, who should be aged between 17 and 51.

There will be six courses – Sales, Customer Service, Call Centre, Information Communication Technology (ICT), Logistics and Hotel and Tourism.

The cost of the courses, allowances and accommodation will be fully sponsored by the Human Resources Ministry.

According K. Pintar managing director R.A. Thiagaraj, there will be an intake for each course every week and the courses will be conducted at two venues – in SS15, Subang Jaya, and Plaza Pantai in Kuala Lumpur.

“We aim to instil in graduates, students and retrenched workers that they should not be too choosy when looking for a job.

“To ensure that the participants will be employed after they complete their courses, we have tie-ups with corporations,” he said.

Thiagaraj pointed out that those seeking employment needed to move with the times as it was becoming harder to land a job and companies had retrenched employees.

“So, before starting their training, each new intake will have to attend a five-day self-development workshop which covers topics like self-confidence, problem-solving, creative thinking, soft skills, employable skills (skills that the employee needs to enable them to do a particular job),” he said, adding that they might also be sent for on-the job training.

Each intake will have a maximum of 25 students per course and there will be a series of intakes until the end of October.
