Factory holds double fest for employees

What say you on the issue below?

IT was a double celebration for Agilent employees when they celebrated Merdeka and Malaysia Day (M2) Festival at the factory premi-ses in Bayan Lepas, Penang.

Its vice-president and general manager Shidah Ahmad said the three-day event held from Sept 13 was meant to instil apprecia- tion of the nation’s history and the company’s 39 years in Malay-sia.

“An open photo studio was set up with a beautiful backdrop of the Malaysian flag and para-phernalia from the past to pro- vide a nostalgic Malaysian set- ting.

“Employees purchased coupons to have their pictures taken by accomplished photographers at the studio,” she said.

Shidah added that there were also a myriad of delicacies such as cendol and kuih sold at the food fair during the event.

My turn: Agilent employees clad in colourful traditional costumes taking part in the inter-department game competiton during the M2 Festival in Penang

“Employees had to purchase coupons to buy the food with the proceeds going to Agilent’s Employee Community Action Com-mittee fund which organi- ses charitable activities for the needy.

“Apart from the food fair and photo studio, employees clad in colourful traditional costumes came together and joined in the fun to participate in game competitions such as batu seremban, congkak and sepak raga,” she said.

During the memorable event, employees were also given the opportunity to learn about the company’s history in Malaysia and its future products through a pictorial exhibition.
