JALAN Bukit Bintang in Kuala Lumpur as well as Pavilion Kuala Lumpur turned pink in support of a breast cancer awareness campaign by Estee Lauder Companies (ELC) Malaysia.
This marks the 15th year the Group is championing the cause.
Themed, “Together. Connect. Communicate. Conquer. For A Future Free of Breast Cancer”, the campaign launched at Pavilion KL emphasised the power of people joining together to communicate the importance of breast health and early detection.
As part of the campaign, KL Tower and Bangunan Sultan Abdul Samad have been lit in pink since Oct 1.
National Cancer Society Malaysia honorary advisor Datuk Zuraidah Atan, Breast Cancer Welfare Association patron Puan Sri Akmal Abdul Salam, Cancer Research Initiatives Foundation trustee Toh Puan Aishah Ong along with Origins brand manager and ELC Malaysia breast cancer awareness campaign committee chairman Joyce Teh officiated at the event.
It was followed by a flash mob whose dancers were dressed in pink.
Teh said the idea was to reach out to as many people as possible and Bukit Bintang was the perfect place to achieve its objective.
During the event, the group Estee Lauder also presented tokens of appreciation to corporate sponsors which included Pavilion KL, KL Tower, Bangunan Sultan Abdul Samad, Hwa Tai Industries Berhad, Star Publications (M) Bhd, Canon, Hong Leong Bank, Mid Valley, Parkson, Stylon, ACP Magazines, Club 21, FJ Benjamin, Golden Hope, GraphixLab, Mediaedge, Metrojaya, Sogo, The Store, Visual Sculpture and Wong & Partners.
