CLEANSING serves as one of the first basic steps towards good skin and choosing the right cleanser is crucial. Taking into consideration the different needs of men and their skin types, L’Oreal Paris Men Expert has come up with three different solutions.
The L’Oreal Men Expert Hydra Energetic Foaming Icy Cleansing Gel provides a sensory experience with its “skin-awakening” effect. It contains Cyro-tonic for a cooling effect and is suitable for those with normal skin. The Pure & Matte Deep Cleansing Gel is a soap free scrub that contains micro beads to purity the skin. This helps to remove dead skin cells and unclog pores, making it suitable for oily and congested skin.
Last but not least, there’s the White Activ Brightening Clay Scrub that has a special clay texture with micro breads that polishes away dead skin cells that cause dullness. Excess sebum is washed away, leaving the skin visibly brighter and smoother. Available at leading pharmacies and department stores.
Simple luxury
THE latest scent by Japanese designer Issey Miyake embodies the Issey Miyake spirit – simple, essential luxury for everyone. The fragrance is touted to be “a scent as simple and beautiful as the air we breathe”. Called “a scent by issey miyake”, it’s a green, floral, woody perfume.
Perfumer Daphné Bugey composed the scent which has a distinctive fresh green trail enlivened by floral notes of hyacinth and galbanum, the vivacity of verbena with a hint of jasmine.
Designer-poet Arik Levy designed the bottle from a slab of pure glass. It’s a powerful, avant-garde idea using raw, primitive glass “that does not hide behind plays of colour or texture, and deploys its infinite naked beauty”.
Also available are the shower gel, body lotion and deodorant spray versions.

Pampering milk
MILK baths have always been regarded as the epitome of indulgence. Now you can pamper yourself at home with Biotherm’s new relaxing milk bath, Lait de Bain.
Formulated with citrus essential oils, it also contains anti-dryness ingredients to nourish and hydrate skin. The white liquid transforms bath water into an opaque blend and emits a pleasant citrus fragrance.
For a complete body milk ritual, start off with body exfoliation using the Lait de Gommage body scrub, followed by the milk bath. Then refresh yourself with the Lait de Douche shower milk and complete the ritual by moisturising skin with the Lait Corporel body milk.

Barely there
BEING made-up without being covered up is the concept behind Dior’s latest foundation range.
The brand’s first mineral make-up range, Diorskin Nude, aims to create a bare skin look that is flawless and luminous. Dior’s director of make-up creation, Tyen, says the brand has “banished compact matte finishing powders, which tend to appear thick and absorb transparency”.
The new range is formulated with active mineralised water that activates the benefits of the minerals, vitamins and trace elements in water to help moisturise and rejuvenate skin. The range consists of the Natural Glow Fresh Powder Make-up, Natural Glow Hydrating Make-up Fluid SPF10 and Diorskin Nude Concealer.
Natural Glow Fresh Powder is a loose powder foundation that contains nearly 20% water and helps generate a naturally luminous look. A specially designed goat-hair brush with a levelled bottom was also developed to complement the product. The powder foundation can be used on its own or after fluid foundation.
The Natural Glow fluid foundation contains about 40% water and provides a lighter coverage than traditional fluid formulas due to the micro-droplets of water.
The Nude Concealer has a smooth and light texture and contains 45% mineralised water to provide more moisture to skin.
