Tiong asked to help in PKFZ probe

What say you on the issue below?

KUALA LUMPUR: Kuala Dimensi Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing has been asked to give his statement over the Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ) issue.

The police has also contacted and recorded statements from former Port Klang Authority (PKA) general manager Datin Paduka O.C. Phang.

It is learnt that police from the Commercial Crimes Investigations Department (CCID) sent Tiong the notice several days ago, requesting him to assist in the investigation.

This came about following a police report lodged by PKA chairman Datuk Lee Hwa Beng, who alleged possible fraud, including overcharging and unsubstantiated claims running into hundreds of millions of ringgit by Kuala Dimensi. The eventual amount in dispute could run up to as much as RM1.5bil.

CCID director Datuk Koh Hong Sun confirmed that his officers had recorded Phang’s statement but declined to elaborate.
