KOTA KINABALU: Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Joseph Pairin Kitin-gan has acknowledged that he is recuperating from medical treatment but declined to give details.
“I hope to return to full action soon,” he said when asked to comment on speculation that he had undergone heart surgery or cancer treatment.
The Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) president who celebrated his 69th birthday last month did not say what medical treatment he had undergone.
“I’m recuperating well and I thank God for protecting me all this while,” said Pairin, who is the state Infrastructure Development Minis-ter, when met after launching the Sabah Public Works Department public complaints service scheme here yesterday.
Pairin thanked those who had prayed for his recovery.
Speculation had been rife about Pairin’s health condition as he had stayed away from various events for almost a month.
