Milo and tomyam are DJ Tuah’s buka puasa favourites

What say you on the issue below?

A GLASS of plain milo and a bowl of mushroom tomyam are all Suria FM deejay Tuah Zoqarnain needs for buka puasa.

After downing a glass of water in one gulp, the 33-year-old Ipoh lad slowly consumed his meal at Shazana Pau Shop & Cafe in Kampung Baru, Kuala Lumpur.

The bowl of hot and sour tomyam, in Tuah’s opinion, is the best in town.

In addition, the oyster mushrooms fit nicely into his diet to maintain his weight at 59kg.

Favourites: Tuah with mushroom tomyam and milo kosong at Shazana Pau Shop & Cafe in Kampung Baru.

The cosy eatery tucked in a corner of Kampung Baru is Tuah’s favourite shop for another reason – it serves a variety of pau.

Other than the Black Pepper Chicken Pau which is his preferred choice, Tuah also recommended Rendang Chicken, Rendang Beef and Ikan Bilis.

While insisting that he did not need a lavish spread of delicacies to break fast, the charming deejay confessed that he could not live without milo.

“Sometimes I would have milo only for sahur,” he said, flashing a boyish smile.

The multi-talented deejay, who was a singer and actor before he found his way into the on-air studio, has been with Suria FM since 2006.

Currently, he co-hosts in Breakfast@Suria on weekdays with Zizi from 6am to 10am and Suria 30 (music chart) on Saturday from 10am to 1pm, which is replayed on Sunday from 4pm to 7pm.

Tuah also said he would not be able to celebrate Raya in his hometown this year, after reminiscing about the good old days when his family took a bus from Ipoh to Taiping, then to Bagan Serai to visit relatives during Raya.

The sixth among seven siblings could not hide his disappointment over having to be in the studio on the first day of Raya from 3pm to 7pm, playing assorted Raya songs for the listeners.

Nonetheless, as Tuah said, hosting radio shows was his rezeki as he realised that this was where his talent was.

To reward its royal listeners, Suria FM is providing three one-way charter buses from Kuala Lumpur to Penang, Kota Baru and Johor Baru on Sept 18 for balik kampung.

All 44 seats in each bus are up for grabs, together with duit raya and goodie bags.
