MORE than 1,000 face masks were distributed at a Ramadan bazaar in Taman Tasek, Ampang in Kuala Lumpur in an effort to educate the public on Influenza A(H1N1).
Persatuan Melayu Ampang president and founder Haslinda Mohd Zerain said the initiative was taken after it was noticed that most of the people who frequent bazaars did not wear masks.
“It appears that there is a lackadaisical attitude from bazaar-goers when it comes to H1N1.
“Only a handful would wear masks.

Haslinda added that the campaign was a continuous effort throughout the month of Ramadan.
Ampang Umno division chief Datuk Ismail Kijo was present to lead the distribution.
Also distributed were boxes of sanitisers.
