MACC counter-report against complaints

What say you on the issue below?

PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Agency (MACC) has lodged reports against several people who alleged that they were tortured while in its custody.

In their reports, the complainants claimed that they were also threatened and forced to give false statements to the MACC.

The MACC said in a statement yesterday that those who lodged the reports had admitted their corrupt activities in their statements.

The MACC said it believed that the motive of the reports lodged were so that they could be used in future court proceedings.

In response to those reports, the MACC had countered-report as all the reports by the complainants are false and defaming.

It urged the police to conduct a thorough investigation on the reports lodged by the complainants.

In a statement, the MACC denied the claims made by the complainants and urged the police to act against those who made false police reports.

The MACC also said it would never compromise on any of its officers who acted out of jurisdiction while in the line of duty.
