Litrak: Work resumed after five-month delay

What say you on the issue below?

MANY may think that the upgrading works of the Damansara-Puchong Highway (LDP), Taman Tun Dr Ismail (TTDI) interchange have come to a halt, but concessionaire Lingkaran Trans Kota Sdn Bhd (Litrak) reiterated that construction is on-going.

The work resumed on Aug 15 after a five-month delay caused by an issue with the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) over the land next to the concessionaire’s right-of-way (ROW).

The concessionaire had applied to use the land located at Jalan SS21/31 and Jalan SS 21/44 that fall under the council’s jurisdiction to build a slip road for public use.

In progress: Contrary to common perception, upgrading work of the LDP-TTDI Interchange has resumed since August after a five-month delay.

However, their application has not been approved.

“At that time, there had been many complaints from the public and stakeholders (RAs and business owners) on the project delay so we had to resume work, but only within our right-of-way and not yet on MBPJ land,” said communications manager Bhavani Krishna Iyer.

She said the company had met up with the Damansara Utama Residents’ Association informing them of the move, on top of distributing flyers to the residents advising them on site activities expected until end of the year.

“Work has been on-going since last month, with pilot work followed by the erection of construction hoarding.

“We will be bringing down the existing noise barrier wall after the Hari Raya holidays,” she said, adding that the noise barrier wall would be reinstated when work at this section of the project had been completed.

“Later this year, the work will include widening of the existing road within the hoarding area and to facilitate this, road diversions will be implemented,” she added.
