KLANG: A commotion broke out at an orphanage at Solok Lanjut in Taman Gembira near here when parents and guardians heard rumours that its founder was involved in the rape of a nine-year-old girl.
The angry crowd broke down the orphanage gate to look for the 45-year-old man, but he had left long before the parents and guardians arrived.
The crowd started arriving at the orphanage at about 4.30pm after hearing rumours that the rape victim had accused the founder as the person who had attacked her.
On Monday, the founder, who manages the orphanage with his sister, had lodged a police report against a 14-year-old resident of the home, alleging that it was the teenager who had raped the victim.
However, the victim, who had since been admitted to the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital, revealed the true identity of her attacker yesterday.
Following that, the man was said to have left the home leaving his sister in charge.
Police later arrived and took the man’s sister, who is in her fifties, to the Klang police station.
A woman S. Shanti, 46, claimed that her teenage nephew, who had been accused of rape, was actually framed by the founder.
“I saw my nephew at the Klang police headquarters today and he denied attacking the girl,” she said, adding that when she went to the orphanage to confront the man, he had disappeared.
