WITH 31 new flavours on the racks at the Big Apple Donuts & Coffee, donut lovers would be spoilt for choice.
Aptly launched on Aug 31, the new flavours are also enticing, with colourful designs and inviting fillings.
“Based on the feedback we’ve been receiving, some of our customers want something new,” said Big Apple business development manager Simon Teng.
He said their research and development team spent about three months creating the new flavours.
Even the names of the new donuts have a creative ring to it, like Dandy Randy (dark chocolate, cappucino fresh cream and white chocolate), Apple Ke Dapple (white chocolate, apple filling and digestive biscuit) and Wakeup Wally (cappucino chocolate and walnuts).
Some of the donuts have been infused with fruit fillings like the Peach Power, Al’ Pine (pineapple), Pink Pelican (red cherry with strawberry and white chocolate) and Tom & Cherry (dark cherry).
Those who love that crunch in their donuts would go nuts with the Mumble Jumble (pumpkin, melon and sunflower seeds), Donutella (roasted peanuts), White Cashew (cashew nuts) and Open Sesame (black and white sesame seeds) donuts.
Three of the new flavours have cereal in them, namely the Ponie Express (dark chocolate, wheat bran, oat and raisins), Agent ‘O’ (white chocolate and Nestum) and Rocky Road (Tiramisu chocolate, coco pops and yellow raisin).
Besides the 31 flavours, the six top flavours of 2008 were retained — Chocoholic, Say Cheese, Pink Twister, Duren Duren, The Alien and Californian Almond.
The classic Glacier and Semi-glacier donuts were also preserved for die-hard fans.
“Loyal fans of our previous flavours would still be able to get them as we would be rotating the flavours every six months,” said Teng.
The donuts are sold at RM2.30 per piece, RM12.50 for a box of six and RM23 for a box of 12.
Fans can even vote for their favourite flavour online at www.bigappledonuts.com for the ultimate donut which would be crowned Lord of the Rings.
Teng said they would be launching a Caramelicious selection of donuts in October.
“Customers can get a box of six donuts for RM12.50, and each one has caramel in it,” said Teng.
