MOTHERS-TO-BE who are expecting their precious bundles of joy to greet the world this Hari Raya season have much to look forward to.
Sharing the joy of the new mothers, Johnson’s Baby will be giving hampers to babies born during the upcoming festival.
Welcome to the world: Hampers worth more than RM100 each await the first 10 babies delivered on the first day of Hari Raya in 29 hospitals nationwide. The hampers, worth more than RM100 each, will be given to the first 10 babies delivered on the first day of Hari Raya in 29 hospitals nationwide.
Johnson & Johnson managing director Joyce Lee said welcoming a new life during Hari Raya was akin to being doubly blessed.
“We share the mothers’ excitement. Hari Raya will never be the same again with a new, adorable baby in tow,” she added.
Mother Nurbani Othman, 28, agreed. Celebrating her first Hari Raya this year with her one-year-old son Muhammad Azri Harraz, Nurbani said a baby made all the difference to enhancing the festive mood.
“There is more excitement in the air as we look forward to enjoying Hari Raya with our boy. We have brought little Azri to shop for new baju raya and he already has three or four sets of new clothes, while my husband and I still haven’t bought ours!” Nurbani said.
The couple’s thrill was also raised a few notches when their baby finally learnt to salam (perform the Muslim greeting) recently.
“We have been teaching him since he was five months old, but he did not seem to be able to learn it then.
“I guess the spirit of Raya finally caught up, because Azri mastered salam just in time!
“His atuk and nenek in Kota Baru would be so proud of him. They cannot wait to exchange their first Hari Raya salam with their little grandson,” Nurbani. said
Another mother, Roziah Ghazali, 32, told of her one-year-old son Asyraf Faris’ enthusiasm whenever he saw his baju raya.
“Just recently, Asyraf saw his babysitter ironing his new baju melayu. I suppose he got too excited and wanted to touch the clothes, but in the process, a small part of his palm was accidentally burnt by the hot iron,” Roziah recounted.
“Now, we joke that Asyraf is so happy about celebrating Hari Raya that he got himself a ‘Raya chop’ on his hand. He can proudly show it off when he exchanges salam with all his relatives,” Roziah said with a grin.
Well, if the stork visits you on the first day of Hari Raya, watch out for the Johnson’s baby hampers that may be coming your way!
