What say you on the issue below?

DEVELOPER Sunrise Bhd is providing a free bus service called Sunrise Community Fun Ride for residents of Sunrise Mont Kiara to travel within the neighbourhood beginning Sept 8.

A 22-seater bus operates from Mondays to Saturdays from 10am to 8pm and covers Plaza Mont Kiara, Solaris Mont Kiara and Solaris Dutamas.

There will be additional buses in the future. The area of coverage will also be expanded over time.

The bus picks up passengers at the entrance of the various residential areas and passengers are required to show their residence access card for the free rides.

Two new bus-stops are also built in Jalan Kiara 1 and Jalan Kiara 2.

Sunrise Bhd executive deputy chairman Datuk Allan Lim said the bus was also fitted with a special engine that reduced carbon emissions to minimise the adverse impact on the environment.

He said the free service would allow residents to take part in leisure and sports activities, social events, visit friends and family in the neighbourhood.

“We believe in a holistic approach in a community development in terms of services, security and living environment,” he said during the launch by Federal Territories Minister Datuk Raja Nong Chik Raja Zainal Abidin.

More than 60% of Sunrise Mont Kiara residents are expatriates.

The free shuttle service will help the community to travel within the area more freely, without the need for a taxi.

The service is also a way to lower pollution level, traffic congestion and provide convenient travel within Mont Kiara by reducing the number of vehicles on the road.

Meanwhile, Nong Chik said Sunrise Mont Kiara had raised the bar of modern living in Malaysia.

“I am delighted to note that the developer has diligently set aside part of its sales proceeds to fund many of its facilities and services.

“The money is also used for cleaning the public roads and drains daily, which is a great help to the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL).

“As such DBKL can direct its services to other communities which are not as lucky as the ones here,” he said.
