Flavourful Dham Biryani is buffet spread’s highlight

What say you on the issue below?

HOLIDAY Villa Hotel & Suites executive chef Azramrizal Ramli and his culinary brigade has created an array of kampung and international delights, promising something for everyone at the Juadah & Jariah Ramadan Buffet.

Not to be missed is the Hyderabad Dham Biryani, an Indian Muslim dish brimming with the aroma of flavourful herbs.

The time-consuming cooking process starts with boiling the whole lamb in stock infused with Indian spices, then stuffing the biryani rice into the lamb and finally, roasting the lamb in tandoori.

Abundant: There are 13 types of main courses to choose from.

The dish can be found at one of the 15 action stalls lined up outside the hotel’s Palm Terrace Coffeehouse, together with other Indian delicacies like Roti Naan and Puttu with Beef Curry.

The key to enjoying the scrumptious buffet spread is not to overindulge in one single dish as there are many more to explore.

At Noodles.com, for instance, four pots of soup - Penang Laksa, Laksa Selangor, Curry Mee and Mee Rebus, assorted condiments and different types of noodles await diners.

Thai Beef Ball Soup and Kway Teow Ladna can be found at the Phadtakhran Thai stall while Sushi and Tempura can be obtained from Japanese Ohio.

For some Vietnamese flavours, try the Breaded Springroll at the Tuan Chau Paradise.

Savoury treat: A Ramadan feast is incomplete without some authentic Malay kuih, such as Pulut Serunding.

Otherwise, there are many other stalls — Teratak Makcik, From the Charcoal/Grilled, Congee Stall, Resipi Ibunda, etc — that whip up mouth-watering local delicacies such as Satay, Ayam Percik, Sup Utara, Murtabak and fried fish roes.

Malay kuih are a must-try, too, with tapai topping the list.

Apart from that, there are 13 types of main courses — Assam Pedas and Kari Pulai, Kalio Ketam, Gulai Lemak Tempoyak Ikan Patin, Daging Masak Mesamah and more.

Cute: Adorable cakes can be found at the dessert counter.

The desserts are equally irresistable with Chendol, Len Chee Kang, cakes and pastries spread across the buffet counter.

Chef Azramrizal is changing his menu everyday, choosing from some 280 dishes for a better variety and to satisfy the diners.

The buffet is priced at RM69.90 per adult and RM55 per child.

Holiday Villa is also offering a special 20% discount for groups of 20 persons and above, and 50% discount on the last five days of Ramadan.

Sahur buffet, priced at RM35 per person, is also available from midnight to 4.30am daily.

For every paying guest, the hotel would contribute RM1 towards a fund in aid of an orphanage.

To ease the Muslims’ prayer obligations, an Imam will conduct terawih prayers at the hotel’s in-house surau throughout the month of Ramadan.
