Extra day off for schools

PUTRAJAYA: Schools may apply for an additional day off during the festive period.

The Education Ministry said in a statement that this was in view of requests from schools and parents.

For states with weekends beginning on Fridays, schools may apply for Thursday to be the extra holiday while those in other places may ask for Friday.

However, schools taking the extra holiday must replace this on Oct 31, which is a Saturday.
