Pupils have a fun-filled Children’s Day

What say you on the issue below?

SJK (C) Ying Sing pupils attended school in their best outfits instead of their regular school uniforms on a school day recently.

For one day in the school year, the pupils are exempted from wearing their uniforms in celebration of Children’s Day, which the school in Malim Nawar celebrated last Friday.

There was excitement and joy written all over their faces as they showed up in their finest. Pleased with her pupil’s dressing, co- curriculum senior assistant Lim Chew Guet said pupils were expected to dress up decently even when they were not wearing their uniforms.

“Other than maintaining a respectable appearance, they must uphold the moral values taught to them in order to grow up becoming men and women who are able to contribute back to society,” she said.

Prizes galore: SJK (C) Ying Sing class 4C pupils eager to get their hands on the Children’s Day gifts.

The highlight of the day was a singing contest, which attracted over 25 participants.

At the tender age of seven, Chong Yik Zhun did not experience the slightest fear when singing a folk song titled Two Little Tiger on stage.

“He is one of the active ones in school.

“He insisted on taking part even though he was not chosen to do so by his class teacher initially,” said senior assistant (II) Lee Fong Foon.

The pupils later tucked into snacks and goodies with their classmates in their respective classrooms.
