MADI Jr ‘A’ from Kulim, Kedah, became the Giant Futsal Championship 2011 northern zone champion after de-feating Agenda Eksklusif 2-0 in the finals held at the Safira Sports Planet in Seberang Jaya, Butterworth.
Khairul Amin Abd Wahab and Khairul Amran Abd Manaf were the heroes of the day after both scored a goal each in the second half of the game.
Madi Jr ‘A’ won RM3,000 in cash, branded sports apparel and qualified for the grand finals which offers RM20,000 in cash prize.
Agenda Eksklusif walked away with RM1,500 in cash and the other items despite not winning the match.
However, the team will still be able to participate in the grand finals to be held at the Sport Planet in Kota Damansara, Kuala Lumpur on Dec 17.
The Madi Jr 'A' champions posing with their mock cheques KB Chasers and Menaihh which took the third and fourth placings, won RM1,000 respectively.
Madi Jr ‘A’ team manager Khairul Anuar Abd Wahab considered the winning as a lucky streak for the team.
“The team members have been playing together for the past five years and teamwork was among the reasons for their success,” he said.
