Nikon’s general manager of consumer products marketing, David Ng said the Nikon 1 brings together the quality of imaging expression SLR cameras offer in a portable, lightweight similar to compact cameras.

“We are targeting users of compact cameras who want better picture quality in an easy, lightweight camera as it offers a total new experience and value for money in a market with its ultra high speed autofocus and image processing. This includes movie capability with a new sensor and super image processing engine Expeed 3.”
