Jamming up a storm with mini festivals

What say you on the issue below?

TOMORROW will be a packed day for music fans, what with two music festivals taking place in Petaling Jaya.

At OVO in Damansara Uptown, the scene sizzles with the One Love Reggae Festival that kicks off at 5pm.

It will be a celebration of all things reggae, with 15 bands all set to take the stage by storm.

Good vibrations: Republic of Brickfield’s drummer Ollie in action on the skins.

Among the acts scheduled to perform are such reggae luminaries as the Republic of Brickfield, Sasi the Don, Rivernation, Salam, Skudap Skudip, Aggrobeats, Salam and Rasta Syndicate.

There will be a RM25 cover charge for this but it should be a blast for reggae fans as DJ Eddy J will also be adding his mixing skills to the list during the interval.

OVO celebrated its anniversary on Friday so one could say that this is an extension of the party into the long weekend.

OVO is located at Damansara Uptown in Petaling Jaya. For details, call 03-7725 2288.

Meanwhile, just across the highway in the Tropicana City Mall, Charles Joseph turns up the volume with another of his special shindigs at Artista Restaurant and Bar.

This time around, it is a smaller event, but still a sizzler with veteran rockers Bonfire one of the key draws.

Other bands scheduled to hit the stage are the Nan Mojo Band, featuring Zhin Wong and the duo of Shasha n’ Deen.
