Practising yoga is Nesadurai’s way of staying fit

YOGIC exercises and breathing techniques, spiritual studies, prayer and meditation, vegetarian diet and abstaining from alcohol and smoking is the way of life for S. Nesadurai.

At the age of 85, Nesadurai prides himself for leading a healthy and contented life, giving credit to his devotion to yoga and the various disciplines.

A vegetarian from 1967, he believes in living a simple life with faith in God.

Mayurasana (the peacock stand): One of the most difficult asanas but it gives the maximum physical exercise in the minimum time and helps with stomach disorders by toning up the internal organs and improves digestion and appetite.

Nesadurai said one has only his body and mind complex mechanism at his disposal to achieve anything in this world, with “prana” (breathing) as the life giving force.
