New phase for OSC

PASIR GUDANG: Pasir Gudang Municipal Council (MPPG) has received recognition for the successful implemention of its online one-stop centre (OSC) to handle various applications.

The council’s president Onn Jabbar said that the OSC had processed 97.27% of various applications since it was introduced in April, 2007.

“MPPG has been chosen to launch the third phase of the OSC system based on our success rate,” he told reporters at the launch of the OSC system’s next phase here, recently.

He said the system, which was officially launched a year ago by the Local Government and Housing Ministry, is intended to shorten the application process for matters handled by the council.

“From Apr 13, 2007 till October this year, we received about 550 applications out of which 535 applications were process quickly,” he said.

Onn also added that, among the applications received by the council through the OSC system, were planning and building plans, road plans, landscapes and streetlights.

“We are sure that, starting from today, this system will be fully utilised and will be busy.

“All application forms have a period of 57 days in which it will go through a series of negotiations,” he said adding that the system would become even more organised in the future.
