Fashion label pairs neutral tones with bright colours

What say you on the issue below?

HOMEGROWN label Seed takes a fresh approach to Fall/Winter with its latest 70’s minimalist collection.

The collection was highlighted at a fashion show in Padini Concept Store, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur recently.

Flared pants, faux fur jackets and bold, stripe prints are the essence of its 70’s approach. When combined with clean lines and sophisticated autumn colours, the looks become polished.

Star appeal: Ng and Lee (below) were seen at the showcase.

Neutral shades such as camel, ivory, black and sand are the hot tones of the show.

The collection is perfect for girls-on-the-go with no-nonsense cigarette trousers and tux blazers.

This season also sees a love affair with men-inspired fashion. With sleeker and slimmer interpretations of men’s wear, one can be sure to find cuts that accentuate and flatter the wearer’s body.

Black tailored jackets provide a red-carpet alternative and dresses up any outfit instantly.

There are also chunky sweaters with long flowy skirts, while camel cropped jacket are worn over soft dresses.

Preppy American fashion is evident with baseball jackets, chambray shirts and dresses, long knitted sweaters and patchwork plaid shirts with contrasting colour sleeves.

Important shades range from velvet red, mossy grey, stony shades of blue to natural cream.

Where men’s wear is concerned, Seed is bringing back eye-catching, rugged classic styles like the reversible leather jacket which you can pair with dark jeans for a smart-casual outfit.

The leather jacket has always been a symbol of ultimate cool and when incorporated with graphic pieces and patterns (like checks and gingham), it gives off an edgier look.

The tones for men’s wear this season are definitely darker and more monochromatic.

The sleeveless polo shirt is something to look out for. If you think it belongs on the golf course, you cannot be more wrong.

When matched with the right stuff, like an understated pair of chinos or jeans, you will look ready to hit the runway.

Teaming two colours that should not go together is a great way to get noticed. The recent block colour trend often produces some of the most fashion-inspired outfits.

Contrasting colours didn’t used to work until now. Be brave enough to team red with neutral monochrome shades.

Seed’s men collection for Fall/Winter is all about adding great statement pieces to your wardrobe while maintaining one’s personal style.

Celebrities seen at the Seed party included emcee-actress Bernie Chan, singer-actress Chelsia Ng, make-up artist Monica Lee and TV host Hansen Lee.
