“The members of the national squad make it a point visit some homes during festivals. This time we chose to spend some time at Rumah Charis,’’ said Arivalagan.

The home has about 30 children. The programme had the support from the National Sports Council (NSC).

Among the karate exponents were G. Yamini, Jamaliah Jamaluddin, A. Nisha. C. Maalini, S. Shree Sharmini, Syakilla Salni, Jefry Krishnan and Prakas Muhammad Arjuna.

The karate exponents served the childrensome finger-licking fast food. After spending almost two hours, the children were also presented with ang pows.

Arivalagan said they were looking forward to organise similar visits for other festivals.

“We want to show that we care for less fortunate and underprivileged. The exponents are happy to be part of this community programme,’’ said Arivalagan.
