Our columnist indulges in luxury and fun times at parties thrown by designer brands.

BRITISH luxury label Burberry opened its third store in Malaysia recently amid much fanfare. Located in The Gardens Mall, Kuala Lumpur, the boutique reflects the design concept developed by Burberry chief creative officer Christopher Bailey who used British materials and themes throughout.

Collections available at this store are Burberry Brit, Burberry London, Heritage Rainwear and Burberry Accessories. Celebrities seen at the opening party included Alan Yun, Kavita Sidhu, Debbie Goh, Vanidah Imran and Maya Karin.

Meanwhile, invited guests flocked to the Gucci boutique in Suria KLCC for a private party. For its 90th anniversary, the Italian brand flew in its Florentine artisans to show KL-lites their craftsmanship. Custom-built workshops were set up in one corner of the boutique and invited guests watched as artisans assembled a selection of iconic Gucci handbags.

As the bags were expertly put together with meticulous attention to detail, customers got an insight into the age-old artisanal tradition that has been handed down through generations. The hand-crafted products are available in exotic skins and exclusive colours, and can be personalised with hand-embossed monogram.

In conjunction with the recent Mid-Autumn festivity, Rolex by Swiss Watch Gallery and UOB organised a private cocktail at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur. Guests were treated to a session with tarot card readers, giving guests an insight into their future.

The guests were seen enjoying themselves sipping Hennessy XO, while enjoying delectable canapés. La Mer, the beauty partner for the event, pampered guests with therapeutic massages. UOB credit card members swarmed the Rolex boutique, as they benefitted from privileges during the evening, which included a variety of gifts for every purchase.
