ShaH Alam residents have urged the Public Works Department (PWD) to carry out a study and take measures to prevent floods in Jalan Shah Alam-Batu Arang.
Section U10 Shah Alam combined residents action committee coordinator Adnan Abdul Kadir said the 8km stretch was dangerous especially to motorcyclists when it rained heavily.
“There are also a few schools along the road.Rain water from the hill flows onto the road and motorcyclists are at risk,” said Adnan, adding that accidents have occurred here when there is a downpour despite motorists driving slowly.
He said he had complained numerous times to the Selangor PWD since October last year to rectify the problem but it has remained unsolved.
Adnan said the drains along Jalan Shah Alam-Batu Arang were also damaged and the area was dark without streetlights.
“I hope that PWD will carry out a study soon and work on solving our woes,” he said.
