THE saying that patience is a virtue must surely be appropriate for many of Malim Nawar Tin villagers who have been waiting for their land titles for five years.
In 2006, they were told that the state government had approved their application for the land titles to their houses.
Despite being told recently that their wait would be over by the end of the year, some of them are still sceptical.

Kamaruddin Hanifullah, 52, said he would only feel relieved when he obtained the title.
Lim Tong Seng, 75, said he was disappointed that the house he lived in has still not been officially declared his after following all the procedures.
“I have grown tired of waiting though I was very excited when I first heard of the approval,” he said, adding that he also could not remember how much money he had spent on land surveys over the years.
Lim expressed his concern over the progress of his application when officers from the land office conducted a final check on his house recently.
Keranji Barisan Nasional Coordinator Chang Gwo Chyang said the delay was due to the fact that the settlement had to undergo infrastructure upgrading to improve its condition.
“It takes years to restructure the road system, upgrade drainage system and install street lights, ” he said, adding that the land office was also in the midst of finalising the list of 90 houses involved.
“Hopefully the issuance of Form 5A to Malim Nawar Tin villagers can be done by the end of the year,” he said, adding that land leases and premiums would soon be determined.
