SOME 200 members attended a dinner at the Taman Tun Sardon Balai Rakyat in George Town, Penang, to celebrate the eighth anniversary of the Taman Tun Sardon Xiang Gong Class.
Among activities for the night were a lucky draw and a demonstration of the traditional Chinese exercise.
Xiang Gong, sometimes called ‘Fragrant Qigong’, is known as a simple but effective exercise to battle stress and a variety of ailments.
Bukit Gelugor Barisan Nasional coordinator Datuk Koay Kar Huah, who hosted the dinner with Seri Delima Barisan Nasional coordinator Lam Nam Hooi, encouraged more Taman Tun Sardon residents to pick up the exercise.
“We hope more people will come and join Xiang Gong.
“It is a good exercise not only for the Chinese, but for all races,” Koay said.

Taman Tun Sardon Rukun Tetangga chairman Wong Kok Wai said Xiang Gong classes were held free of charge, six days a week at the sepak takraw court in between the area’s Ak and Aj block of flats.
