Surf into 2012 at theme park

SUNWAY Lagoon, touted as Asia’s best attraction, is all set to play host to a mega year-end party on Dec 31 at its Surf Beach.

The 2012 Countdown Concert Party organised by the theme park located in Bandar Sunway, Petaling Jaya, will feature a hot line-up of international and local music acts.

Soo: ‘It will be the most happening yearend party.

“Sunway Lagoon has been known to be the ultimate place for the best beach parties,” said Sunway Lagoon chief executive officer Aaron Soo.

“Revellers should make sure they bring a lot of energy with them to usher in the new year because the 2012 Countdown Concert Party is going to be amazing.”

He added that the event was expected to be the “hottest and most happening year-end party”.

Soo then announced the performers at the party, with Korean pop girl band Rania and Ella from Taiwanese girl band S.H.E. as the headlining acts.

Rania is a sizzling hot K-pop band best known for their single Dr Feel Good; Ella forms one-third of the group popular for songs like Super Star and Remember.

Malaysia will be represented by rap rock band Dragon Red, Da.Mon.Ster, and the winners of the Battle of the Bands 2011: Passport to Fame, namely Juanophobia, Rade and Rhythm Nation.

Fans who want to get closer to their favourite performers can purchase tickets for the “Rock Zone” area — a specially designed audience pit within the stage. Revellers will also be treated to an amazing fireworks display to usher in the new year.

Present at the press conference on the party were representatives from the event’s sponsors and partners Magnum, Mega Ultimate, Station One Cafe, Tiger Beer and Unusual.

Local talents: Members of the Malaysian bands that will be performing at the party are Dragon Red, Da.Mon.Ster, Juanophobia, Rade and Rhythm Nation.
