AS MANY as 350 guests celebrated the launch of latest Thai-themed restaurant which made its debut in Pavilion Kuala Lumpur recently.

Named Sticky Fingers Bangkok Bistro, it is the ninth restaurant by the Rotol Food Chain Sdn Bhd, headed by Rotol Group managing director Datuk Garry Chua.

The night of many flavours started with a lion dance as it welcomed the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Mohammed Nazri Abdul Aziz at the entrance of the shopping mall and accompanied him to the restaurant.

Nazri said Chua was the man-of-the-hour and the list of guests in attendance went to show just how successful Chua was in the business.

“I really enjoy his company, and may he will always be successful in whatever he does,” he said to a loud applause from the audience.

Chua said Sticky Fingers was a trendy and non-conventional name that made customers think of finger-licking good food.

“We named it as such because of a popular Thai dessert called sticky rice, which goes very well with mango or durian,” he said.

During the event, guests were entertained with a graceful Thai dance show.

They were also presented with a buffet dinner so they could sample the restaurant’s offerings such as Mango and Papaya Salads, Prawn with Choo Chee Gung sauce, Phad Thai Noodles, Tab Tim Krob (Thai water chestnut dessert) and Mango Sticky Rice.

Sunway Integrated Properties (Sunway Berhad) property investment managing director Datuk Ngeow Voon Yean and wife said they were thrilled to be there.

“The good food coupled with good songs are a perfect combination to match the stunning design of the place,” he said.

This same sentiment was echoed by Real Estate and Housing Developers’ Association Malaysia (Rehda) president Datuk Seri Michael K.C. Yam who said Sticky Fingers had the right location with the right concept.

“The bistro, with its relaxing environment away from the hustle and bustle of the city, provides a breath of fresh air for anyone who is looking for formal but cosy meeting place,” he said.

Rotol Food Chain also runs other Asian restaurants in Klang Valley such as KLCC’s Imperial Chakri Palace, Sunway Pyramid’s Rainforest Bistro and Jalan Ampang’s Bangkok Connexion.

The restaurant is located on the fourth floor at Connection Pavilion KL.
