FULL SPECTRUM KRU Studios achieved another milestone through its latest collaboration with state-of-the-art motion picture facility Technicolor for its upcoming domestic and international feature films.

The multi-picture deal includes a full spectrum of services including digital post and film laboratory services, Dolby 5.1 sound mastering, 35mm prints as well as digital cinema mastering for KRU Studio’s selected Stereoscopic 3-D films in digital cinema packages.

“Stereoscopic 3-D is not only becoming the industry’s standard format for exhibitions internationally, it will also set a new benchmark for local films in enhancing the cinematic experience,” said KRU Studios executive president Norman Abdul Halim at a Press conference recently.

“Having Technicolor as our technical partner will allow us to achieve standards in visual and audio quality on par with the world’s best,” he added.

Also attending the event was Technicolor Asia managing director Sergio Bosso.

“We are happy to collaborate with KRU Studios, which is such an important player in feature film production in both 2-D as well as 3-D technologies,” Bosso said.

“Stereoscopic 3-D is key to worldwide success for the movie industry. Technicolor supports the Stereoscopic 3-D format, with both digital workflow as well as proprietary Technicolor 3-D on film technology,” he added.

KRU Studios, established in 1992, is known for its superior photo-real visual effects and digital audio and video production which is attributed to its cutting-edge technology and state-of-the-art equipment.

The first project under this collaboration is a family comedy feature film entitled Cinta Kura-Kura followed by 29 Februari, Vikingdom and Ribbit. All films will be available on Stereoscopic 3-D except Cinta Kura-Kura.

Cinta Kura Kura is a CGI-infused romantic comedy directed by Nizam Zakaria.

Starring Tiz Zaqyah, Zizan Raja Lawak and Aeril Zafrel, it tells the story of a girl called Nani (Tiz) and her talking pet turtle Nico (voiced by Zizan) and their adventures together.
