RM100mil investment on small scale industries bearing fruit

What say you on the issue below?

MUAR: The Government has allocated RM100mil to help develop small scale industries over the past 12 years, Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Abdul Ghani Othman said.

He said many of the entrepreneurs, especially those involved in agro-based food production, including processing and marketing, had succeeded in their ventures.

He said some of them had even hit production value of over RM1mil annually and about 20 managed to hit production value of RM500,000.

Keep it up: Abdul Ghani (second from right) chatting with entrepreneur Zulkifli Salim (centre) before presenting him with a compressor machine.

He also said many of the cookies sold in other states were made in Muar and Batu Pahat but were repacked by traders.

“They come to Muar or Batu Pahat and buy the cookies in bulk before packing the cookies in beautiful and attractive packages using their own labels,” he added.

He also reminded all Barisan National component parties to work together as a team in the coming general election.

Abdul Ghani said by working together, Barisan leaders would be able to meet up with as many voters as possible from all races.

He said he wanted the all election machinery to be prepared and ready to be mobilised when required.

“We have asked component parties at the divisions to activate their machinery and conduct studies on voters’ trend.

“We also urged them to identify issues or problems faced by the people in their areas and make efforts to resolve them,” he said after presenting farm-related equipment to entrepreneurs in Muar recently. He said it was also important for the leaders to meet and talk with non-governmental organisation (NGO) leaders to know their problems and needs.

Abdul Ghani, who spent three days meeting Umno, MCA and MIC division leaders as well as visiting several villages here since Oct 27, also met up with the different groups of NGOs in the district.
