WATSONS recently unveiled its first health and beauty magazine Glow in a glitzy fashion at The Bedroom in Pavilion Kuala Lumpur.

Complemented with a fashion show by Carven Ong Couture, the event saw various celebrities, suppliers and members of the media in attendance.

“The quarterly magazine provides beauty and health advice, apart from updating consumers on products ranging from medicines, cosmetics and personal care items.

“Malaysians are becoming an ageing population and couples are only opting to have one child or none at all these days, which is why it is pertinent that Watsons play its role in educating consumers,” said Watson’s Personal Care Stores Sdn Bhd managing director Kulvinder Birring.

Glow is published by ACP Magazines, the company behind Cleo, The Malaysian Women’s Weekly, Harper’s Bazaar and Cosmopolitan.

“By working closely with Watsons in Malaysia, we have developed the Glow concept to empower customers with a sense they can do something positive to enjoy a healthy family life and have loads of fun too,” said ACP Magazines (Asia) chief executive officer Julie Sherbon.

Its inaugural cover featured singer Fish Leong.

Leong, the brand ambassador for Pure Beauty Pomegranate Antioxidant Skincare talked about her beauty secrets, while Malaysian fashion designer Carven Ong shared his fashion tips.

With a debut circulation of 25,000 copies, Glow hit the shelves in mid-October and priced at RM2 for Watsons cardmembers and RM3 for non-members.

In conjunction with the magazine’s launch, Watsons held a contest via Facebook, which drew more than 50 fans.

The event also saw the winning fans receiving a copy of Glow autographed by Leong and Pure Beauty Pomegranate Antioxidant Skincare gift sets worth RM70.

Also present at the event were celebrity blogger Cindy Tey, Watsons merchandise and space planning director Caryn Loh and Watsons senior marketing manager Faiz Shah.
